La Justitia welcome submissions of Articles, Essays, and proposals for Book Reviews through our electronic submission system.
La Justitia invite submissions of Articles, Essays, via our electronic submission portal. We are currently welcoming submissions.
We strongly prefer manuscripts that adhere to the following word counts (inclusive of text, footnotes, and appendices):
Note: Submissions exceeding 30,000 words will be viewed less favorably during the selection process. We rarely offer unconditional acceptance for manuscripts over 37,500 words.
For further context on our length requirements, please refer to the joint letter issued by a collective of national law journals.
Contributors are encouraged to submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format through our online system. To submit a piece specifically for the Forum, please select “Forum (online)” from the “Article Type” dropdown menu.
Alternatively, manuscripts may be mailed to: Articles Office, La Justitia support@lajustitia.com
To ensure a fair and anonymous review process, please:
We evaluate the depth and accuracy of a piece’s supporting evidence. Please ensure all footnotes comply with the 22nd edition of the Bluebook.
If you require an expedited review, please use the unique link provided in your confirmation email (be sure to check your spam folder).
The La Justitia Blog features diverse perspectives and utilizes a more streamlined editing process than our Print or Forum sections.
Every manuscript undergoes a rigorous, multi-stage anonymous review involving at least three editors, faculty peer review, and a full-body vote.
● Timing: Because our process is thorough, we are often unable to accommodate rapid
“exploding” deadlines from other journals. If La Justitia is your preferred venue, we
recommend submitting to us at least two weeks before other journals.
● Expediting: While we attempt to honor expedite requests, we do not skip any stage of
our review.
● Decisions: There is no “perfect” time to submit. If we run out of space in a current issue,
we will hold exceptional pieces for the next volume. Decisions are communicated via
email; we do not provide specific feedback on rejection decisions.
